By NJITgreen Our feature this week is NJIT Hindu Yuva. Hindu Yuva are a new club on campus dedicated to promoting Hindu values and traditions. This semester alone, they have hosted two events with a nod to sustainability. Last month, Hindu Yuva chose to celebrate an holy festival in an eco-friendly manner which sustains their cultural beliefs and also the environment. Also in September, Hindu yuva hosted a speaker to discuss Sustainable Living from an Indic perspective. Attendees learned how to be more sustainable in today's society. At the end of the event, two trees were donated in gratitude to the speakers! Congratulations on earning the very first green swoosh! Going into the semester, it would be wonderful to see other cultural clubs join Hindu Yuva in thinking up innovative ways to make traditional celebrations more sustainable (if they aren't already!). Happy Friday!!
